Toni Gironès Saderra, Member of the Brick Award Jury 20

Toni Gironès was born just north-east of Barcelona and studied architecture at Vallès Architecture University and at Politècnica de Catalunya University, where he received his PhD in Architecture in 2016. Already as a child, he had a close bond to Cap de Creus, the easternmost point of the Iberic Peninsula, which still has a large influence on his creations and ideas.  His work focuses on people’s daily life and their identification with the environment to find the best possible solution for each space.

From 1993, the beginning of his professional path, his work was recognised by awards, publications, expositions, among these several FAD awards, the Premi Joves Architects in Catalunya, expositions at the Venecian Biennal, or nominations for the Mies van der Rohe Award or the Borromini Award.

His most famous works include the Museum of Climate (Lleida), 80 Social Housing Units (Salou) or 35 Houses and their Transitional Spaces Towards the City (Badalona).
