Christine Conix, Member of the Brick Award 24 Jury

Christine Conix started working as an independent architect immediately after her studies at the Henry van de Velde-Institut in Antwerp in 1978. She founded Architectenbureau Christine Conix in 1983 and then transformed this structure into CONIX architects in 2002. The goal has always focused on sustainability and timeless construction to serve subsequent generations.

Christine has built projects on small and large scales, for example the private home Cogels-Osylei, the renovation, master plan and expansion of the Atomium, the masterplan and construction of Oosteroever in Ostend, the renovation and the new construction of the J. Van Breda & Co Bank, the masterplan and construction of the Umicore site in Hoboken, the European School of Brussels IV or the Belgian EU Pavilion for the World Expo in Shanghai.

The 2013 merger with partners Jorden Goossenaerts and Frederik Jacobs saw Christine unleash the power that comes from combining strong teams with experience. In 2017, CONIX RDBM Architects entered a new partnership with LiPS—urban planning. For Christine, architecture is and will always remain a team sport: a dialogue with colleagues and clients.
