Daniel Mangabeira

Daniel Mangabeira da Vinha (BRA) is an architect based in Brasília. He graduated from the Universidade de Brasília and holds a Master of Arts in Architecture from the Westminster School of Architecture. He is co-founder of BLOCO Arquitetos, a Brasília-based practice recognized for its precise tectonic approach, strong engagement with landscape, and consistent contribution to contemporary Brazilian architecture.
 
His work, developed with his partners at BLOCO Arquitetos, has received wide national and international recognition. Twice awarded the Prix Versailles (UNESCO), recent distinctions include the Monocle Design Awards, finalist positions at the Mies Crown Hall Americas Prize (MCHAP) and the Oscar Niemeyer Award for Latin American Architecture. 
 
Mangabeira has held significant institutional roles, including Cultural Director of the Instituto de Arquitetos do Brasil – Departamento do Distrito Federal (2008–2010). He is a member of Plano Coletivo, the collective behind the winning proposal selected to represent Brazil at the Venice Architecture Biennale.
