
Born in Germany, Anne Kaestle studied architecture at the TU Karlsruhe and the Royal Academy of the Arts in Copenhagen before completing her studies at the Accademia di Architettura in Mendriso under Peter Zumthor.
After working in Switzerland and Argentina, Anne Kaestle formed Duplex Architekten alongside Dan Schürch in 2007. Duplex Architekten has three offices located in Zurich, Düsseldorf and Hamburg.
Renowned projects from Duplex include “Mehr als Wohnen”, a Housing scheme which explored ideas in communal living for which they were awarded the 2014 DEUBAU-Prize for young architects. Duplex also received the World Habitat Award of the Building and Social Housing Foundation and the Special Prize at the Brick Award 2016 for the Cluster House project.
