Born in Paris, Marc Mimram graduated in mathematics and engineering before dedicating himself to architecture. In 1992, he founded Marc Mimram Architecture, his own consultancy and architecture-engineering firm.
The duality of being an architect-engineer reflects in his philosophy, according to which architecture cannot dissociate itself from the domain of construction. This influence is also visible in the impressive infrastructure projects he fathered, such as the Jin Jin Wang Bridge in China and the Roland Garros Stadium in Paris. His practice has won several national and international prizes including the Aga Khan Award for Architecture.
Beside his work as an architect, Marc Mimram has taught at the École des Ponts et Chaussées in Paris, the École Polytechnique Fédérale in Lausanne and the University of Princeton in the United States. He was appointed Professor of Architectural Schools and currently teaches at the École d’Architecture de Marne-la-Vallée in the vicinity of Paris. Marc Mimram is also Member of the French Architecture Academy.
