About the event

Awarding excellent brick architecture and building a network

Traditionally, the Brick Award event is based on a dialogue with you, architects and architecture fans as well as critics, to provide a stage for excellent brick architecture and its architects. Additionally, the event should further strengthen the public focus on the aesthetic and functional aspects of this great building material.

Brick Award 24 - Trophy

The origins of the new Brick Award Trophy

The bespoke design of the Brick Award 24 trophies was created by award-winning ceramic artist and architect Maria Gasparian. The design was created to express wienerberger’s values of versatility, sustainability and innovation.

Initially, Maria was invited to visit five wienerberger factories to gain insights into their manufacturing methods and products. Afterwards the trophies were manufactured at wienerberger’s Panningen factory using a custom-made extrusion die, while the glaze colours were specially developed to match the competition categories.

Many thanks go to the wienerberger Brick Award Project team for great collaboration and to the team at Panningen factory for manufacturing of highly crafted pieces.
